Ocala Horse Properties Eventing 6-7th of March 2017

2017 Ocala Horse Properties’ Eventing Prix Invitational

Ocala Horse Properties enthusiastically returns as Title Sponsor for the 4th annual Eventing Prix Invitational, being hosted once again at Southern Cross Equestrian on March 6th & 7th, 2017.

The Eventing Prix was conceived by Olympic Event Rider and Show Jumper, Scott Keach, as an opportunity for upper-level event riders to gain competition experience in a pressurized atmosphere, similar to the Nation’s Cup team format. The show attracts event riders from the U.S.A., Canada, England, Australia and New Zealand, although each year only 4 countries can be represented.

This prestigious competition takes place the Monday and Tuesday before the Red Hills Horse Trials, creating a must-attend calendar week in Florida for elite international event riders. The team at Ocala Horse Properties has attended each year due in part to their loyalty and interest in the sport of eventing, but also due to the communal energy at this event. Matt Varney always looks forward to this yearly competition, stating “The Eventing Prix is quite simply one of our favorite events every year. The atmosphere is fantastic because it caters to any type of spectator and the show is so well run by Max & Scotty. Everyone should be putting this event on their social calendar.”

“We are delighted to be a driving force in the advancement of Eventing in Florida and look forward to working with EEI as we build on the advantages our area offers competitors from around the world. Our inaugural event this fall will surely be the right place at the right time and with the right team!” said Richard Trayford, CEO of Equiventures.

“It’s important for top-level Thoroughbreds to continue to train at the Ocala Jockey Club, but we saw an opportunity for the farm’s size and rolling hills to be showcased with a Cross-Country experience to rival the best in the world,” said Pavla Nygaard, president of the Ocala Jockey Club. “As many Thoroughbreds retire from racing careers into the hands of eventers who prize the Thoroughbreds’ stamina and athleticism, a Three-Day Event at the Ocala Jockey Club and special prize fund for top-placing Thoroughbreds provides a great opportunity for the two disciplines to bridge together. EEI is well-known for producing a superb Three-Day Event at Rolex Kentucky, and we are excited and proud to be the host venue of their vision for a world-class show at our property.”
