The 11th renewal of the Tattersalls International Horse Trials
Tattersalls Horse Trials & County Fair, Ireland’s premier International 3 Day Event. The 2016 Tattersalls International Horse Trials and Country Fair combines world class sport with a quintessential country fair and is acknowledged as one of the countryside events of the summer. It is more than just an equestrian competition, the weekend is tailored especially for families. A record 25,500 spectators attended last year.
Eventing’s leading lights are in Ireland, with six of the world’s top 20 making participating
The show’s more than 300 entries includes amateur, junior and pony riders competing alongside the best in the world. Tattersalls will be the final selection event for the Irish team. As well as Olympic gold, silver and bronze medallists, World Equestrian Games Medal winners, and the Irish Olympic Squad, the start list includes “eventing royalty”, with the Queen’s granddaughter Zara Tindall entered for the event, from June 1 to 5 at Country Meath.
The Irish Olympic Squad are near the final stages of their preparation for Rio. Multiple Olympic Gold medallist Andrew Hoy, silver medal winners William Fox-Pitt, Zara Tindall and Mary King, and other big international names such as Oliver Townend, New Zealanders Tim and Jonelle Price, Australian Paul Tapner and Sam Griffiths is a great honour for the event.
